Your ship docks in Le Havre, and the D-Day beaches are a morning's drive away. Your driver waits at the terminal, takes you to the places where history was made and brings you back before the ship sails. Just your group, at your own pace.

We ask for your ship's arrival and all-aboard times when you book. We then plan the day with a safety margin so you are back at the pier early. If your schedule changes, tell us and we adjust.

Some guests spend an hour at the American Cemetery and say very little. Others want to walk Omaha Beach for a long time. Both are fine. If you travel with someone who served, or who lost a relative here, tell us when you book and we will slow the day down.

Frequently asked questions

Is a D-Day tour possible in one day from the Le Havre cruise port?

Yes, if your ship stays in port long enough. Plan about 1 hour 40 to 2 hours of driving each way, about four hours on site and about ten hours in total. Send us your ship's arrival and all-aboard times and we tell you honestly if it fits.

How far are the D-Day beaches from Le Havre?

Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery are about 1 hour 40 to 2 hours from the port by road. Bayeux and Arromanches are close by. Times depend on traffic.

Which sites do we see?

The usual day covers Omaha Beach, the Normandy American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, Bayeux and Arromanches. If you prefer Pointe du Hoc or Utah Beach, we plan it with you. We keep the day realistic for your all-aboard time.

Will we be back before the ship leaves?

Yes. We build the day around your ship's schedule with a safety margin, and we follow it all day. If you arrive late, message us on WhatsApp and we adjust.

How much does a private D-Day excursion from Le Havre cost?

From €990 per vehicle, not per person. It covers the Mercedes, the driver, fuel, tolls, parking and water on board. Museum entry fees and lunch are extra. A Sprinter van for larger groups is quoted on request.

Is the driver a guide?

No. Your driver is a professional English-speaking driver, not a licensed guide. We give you our own audio guide for the main sites, and a local guide can be arranged for an extra fee.

Is there an entry fee for the American Cemetery?

No. Entry to the Normandy American Cemetery is free. Museums charge their own entrance fees.

Why a private driver instead of a cruise ship excursion?

You do not wait for dozens of other passengers. You leave when you are ready, spend as long as you wish at each site and set your own pace.

Is it a suitable day for older guests or children?

It depends on the person. The sites involve some walking on uneven ground, and the subject is serious. Child seats are available on request, and we pace the day to suit your group.
